Privacy Policy
RabbitHutch.org is a small, one-person site, and I keep things just as simple on the privacy side. Here’s exactly what I collect, what I don’t, and how the few bits of technology behind the scenes work.
The short version
- I don’t sell your personal information—not ever, to anyone.
- The site uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics, so I see general traffic patterns, not individual people.
- I only collect personal details when you choose to give them—by sending me a message or signing up for the newsletter.
- RabbitHutch.org does not currently publish affiliate links. If that changes, affiliate links will be clearly disclosed.
- If you tip me on Ko-fi or (soon) buy a digital download, a trusted payment service handles the transaction—I never see your full card number.
Who runs this site
RabbitHutch.org is owned and operated by a single independent creator (that’s me). If you’d like to get in touch about anything in this policy, the best way is through my contact form.
Information you give me directly
There are two places where you might choose to share information with me:
- The contact form. When you send a message, I collect your name, email address, and whatever you write to me. I use this only to read and reply to your message. Form submissions are delivered to my inbox through a service called Web3Forms, which passes the message along and doesn’t use it for anything else.
- The newsletter signup. If you sign up for updates, I collect your email address so I can send you new stories and care tips. The signup and email list are managed by MailerLite. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, and that removes you from the list.
Information collected automatically
To understand which pages people enjoy, I use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It’s deliberately privacy-friendly: it doesn’t set tracking cookies, doesn’t follow you around the web, and doesn’t build a profile of you. It shows me aggregate things like which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from (such as a search engine or social link), and whether people are on phones or computers. None of it identifies you personally.
Like virtually every website, my hosting provider (Porkbun) also keeps standard server logs for security and reliability. The site’s fonts also load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers to download them; like any web request, that shares your IP address with Google.
Cookies
RabbitHutch.org is intentionally cookie-light. My analytics are cookieless, and I don’t run advertising networks or social tracking pixels. A couple of small exceptions have reasons:
- The MailerLite newsletter form may set a cookie or load a small script in order to function. This only comes into play around the signup form itself.
- If affiliate links are added later and you follow one to another site, that destination may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Those cookies would be theirs, not mine.
- If a page includes a video, it’s hosted on Vimeo, and Vimeo’s player may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. This only applies on the occasional page that actually shows a video.
I don’t run advertising networks or cross-site tracking, and I don’t intend to. If that ever changes, I’ll update this policy and add a proper cookie consent banner first.
Affiliate links & disclosure
RabbitHutch.org does not currently publish affiliate links. If I add them later, I’ll label or disclose them clearly. If you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Any future affiliate relationship will not change what I say about a product, and I’ll add the name of the program or retailer here before those links go live.
Supporting the site & digital products
If RabbitHutch.org is helpful to you, you can leave a tip through Ko-fi—and before long you’ll also be able to buy digital downloads (things like printable care guides) right here on the site. When you do, the payment itself is handled by a trusted third-party checkout, not by me. That service collects the billing details it needs to process your payment and deliver your download; I only ever see what I need to fill your order—such as your email and what you bought—and never your full card number. Once paid downloads go live, I’ll name the exact checkout service right here.
How I use your information
I use the limited information I collect only to:
- Reply to messages you send me.
- Send the newsletter to people who asked for it.
- Understand, in aggregate, which content is helpful so I can make more of it.
I don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and I don’t share it except with the trusted service providers named below who help run the site.
Services I rely on
A few third-party services help RabbitHutch.org run. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Porkbun—website hosting.
- Cloudflare—cookieless, privacy-friendly site analytics.
- Google Fonts—serves the site’s typefaces. Your browser downloads the font files directly from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Web3Forms—delivers contact-form messages to my inbox.
- MailerLite—manages the newsletter signup and email list.
- Ko-fi—handles tips and, soon, digital-download checkout.
- Vimeo—hosts any videos that appear on the site.
Your choices & rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you’re always welcome to ask me what information I hold about you or to request that I delete it—just reach out through the contact form. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and I’m happy to honor those requests.
Children’s privacy
The stories on RabbitHutch.org are written for children to enjoy, but the site itself—the newsletter, the contact form, any purchases—is meant for grown-ups. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent me their information, please get in touch through the contact form and I’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
As the site grows, this policy may change. When it does, I’ll update the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted clearly.
